Amazon, just like any other business, is a structure, which works by certain rules. Understanding the system and the way it works allows you to control all of these processes, making your business more successful step-by-step, every day. Your success is a benefit to Amazon as well and playing a fair game within their framework of rules is possible if you use the right tools.  For that, here are some tips to bring success to your business and provide with non-stop sales.
  • ​Help your customer find YOU
Just imagine the number of sellers on Amazon – it’s huge and all over the world, hundreds of thousands of your competitors are searching for the way to be unique and to be there, on top of the list, in order to be seen first! This motivates, right? Be a fan of your product, but have a clear picture in your head of your potential customer, his or her desires, his or her ideal product, that YOU will present! This will help you generate your product name, description, packaging, which will differ exactly YOU from anybody else. Catching your potential customer’s attention is the point you need to think about before even opening an account. 
  • Verification process
It seems very easy: to open an account, to pay a monthly fee and create listings, but even before your account is active, you need to go through so-called “verification process”, which Amazon takes very seriously. In order to go through it successfully, make sure the registered information on your account matches exactly the information on the documentation provided: name, address, telephone number, email address. In simple words, you have to prove to Amazon’s Seller Performance Team, that your business is legal and that you are a real person (not a fraud) with a physical address. Don’t try to open an account with an address in a country where you are not actually located. That is the mistake of most sellers who fail this process.
  • Be Clear
When you go shopping, all you want is to clearly understand what this product is, how it works, etc. But when it comes to your “baby”, you cannot stop this fountain, you start giving as much as possible information to impress the customer. Above all, remember, what a customer wants is to have a clear understanding of the product. Concentrate on the descriptions on your detail pages because it is your “salesperson”, and must convey the proper key words, description and images to give the customer a clear understanding of your product, so that first “click” will be yours. 
  • Design your product page
We all fall in love with first appearances. Be professional here. Make your page create a ” WOW” effect for your product. Use good quality pictures, showing your product from all sides, and allowing your customer to imagine it in his or her own hands, as if he or she were in a department store.
  • Use Amazon tools 
Be prepared to wait until you start receiving benefits from your seller account. Unless you present an absolutely unique product, imagine yourself in a field full of flowers. There is a great variety of the same product: size, color, etc. (depending on the product), but the are some tools that help new sellers to promote their brand, like Amazon Enhanced Branded Content and Amazon Advertising. To develop an Amazon brand and get access to Amazon’s brand registry, you will need a registered trademark, and that is where having a good intellectual property attorney will help.
  • Be professional
Work with reliable suppliers to be sure, that you sell only genuine goods, have your legitimate invoices always on file in case Amazon asks for them, be responsible with all documentation.   • Provide excellent customer service
Even though we live in times where it’s getting more and more efficient to shop online, it’s good to know, that your purchase is being handled by a real human being; that if there is a problem – it will be solved, if there is a question – it will be answered. This way, with very purchase you can acquire a life-long customer. 
  • Know your inventory
When we talk about sales, you have to be aware of all details involved in this process. The same is true with online markets. While one hand is adding the listings, the other is checking these items in stock, their expiration dates, and product and packaging quality. You need to be interested in the customer from the time you pack the product all the way until he or she receives your product. The click “to buy” doesn’t mean an overall success. You must follow through.
  • Consider complaints seriously
The worst thing you can do about complaints is to ignore them. Review all complaints in detail and reply to the customer, sympathize with his negative experience (even if it is not your fault) and try to comfort him.  Don't argue with your customers.  We ALL read comments before we make a purchase.
