Amazon Appeal Escalation - How Long Does it Take?

​Clients often ask, "Are you kidding? We send the email to Jeff Bezos?" "Does he really read them?" The answers are yes, we send the email to Jeff Bezos and no, the richest man in the world does not take the time to read your emails.  They are read by a member of the executive team or Amazon escalation department.

He does, however, have a staff that opens them and routes them to the appropriate manager within Amazon's network.

Often called Bezos escalations, these are actually not a new appeal, but a new place to send your denied appeal to get a review from Amazon management.

They always answer, and they usually give a final decision, except in cases where they will ask for more information.  

As to how long an Amazon escalation takes, that is a corollary question to how long does an Amazon appeal take.  Both questions have become impossible to answer. We used to give an average time, but that average time was one month, then two months, and now we have seen them take as long as seven months.

​This is frustrating for sellers and can be a real business killer, but there is no way to expedite them. This is Amazon's system and getting your account back is not something you can get by suing them in arbitration. Washington courts have ruled Amazon's business solutions agreement is an agreement at will. They can cancel it at any time and for any reason.

I know this is not what sellers want to hear, but worrying about it will not speed up the process.  The most important thing to remember is to have the best plan of action possible, because this is your last shot.  For that, we can certainly help.
